You’ll be joining the MVRM - VC Team, a centralised function of valuation and risk professionals within the Chief Risk Office (CRO) responsible for the independent valuation of fair value/trading positions for Deutsche Bank. The remit covers market consistent modelling and valuation of all Fair Value positions. VC acts as internal advisor on valuation issues and operates as a centre of excellence for valuation, reserving, day 1 recognition and prudent valuation. The VC team is based in London, Mumbai, New York, and Singapore.

The core responsibilities of the role are the operation and oversight of GFCT wide control and governance processes which are an area of intense focus for the Banks Regulators and in most instances feed directly to Deutsche Bank’s externally disclosed financial results. Through these responsibilities and ad-hoc project work there is ample opportunity to gain experience and be involved in the core Independent Price Verification and Prudent Valuation process performed by the global team.

Your key responsibilities

• Reviewing daily/monthly Independent Price Verification of the Fair Value positions within the business
• Approving Day1 revenue recognition, Quarterly Fair Value Levelling and PruVal process and reporting
• Providing regular reports as well as ad-hoc analysis to Finance and Desk Management
• Reporting, enhancing, and developing fair value and prudential valuation methodologies
• In-depth understanding of complex structures, using advanced Excel Cash-Flow modeling and the Bank’s internal pricing libraries

Your skills and experience

• Strong cash and derivative valuations experience; preference for Credit product knowledge
• Understanding of accounting and prudent valuation requirements, best practice, and market developments
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, peers and senior stakeholders
• Accounting and or Risk Management qualification: ACA, ACCA, CFA, FRM and/or MSc in Finance would be beneficial
