Mishcon's Innovation Department combines lawyers who have market-leading expertise in areas including Data, IP, Competition, Technology, Betting & Gaming, Sport and Commercial contracts and brings them together with non-legal specialists in areas such as Data Science, AI, Cyber, Digital Transformation and Brand Management.

The Innovation Department is made up of the following Divisions:
• IP & Competition (comprising the IP Disputes, Brands and Competition Groups)
• Commercial, Technology, Data and Sport
• Betting & Gaming
This role will be in the Commercial, Technology, Data and Sport group.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be a corporate/commercial lawyer who has a keen interest in advising tech start-ups and has experience of advising entrepreneurial businesses, in particular advising in fundraising. They will work alongside Andrew Wolfin, Partner, who is the lead for M:Tech, Mishcon de Reya's legal mentoring programme for early-stage tech companies.
We are seeking a lawyer who has experience of fundraising, corporate governance, shareholder disputes, corporate arrangements and a broad range of commercial and contractual matters.
Skills/Experience
We are seeking candidates with "hands on" experience who possess the following attributes:
• Experience advising founders and entrepreneurs, tech start-ups and SMEs, in particular on fundraising.
• 3-6 years' post qualification experience
• Experience of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholders' agreements and complex commercial contracts.
• To be able to manage a diverse portfolio of client work allocated by the partner and other lawyers within the Group and the wider firm.
• To ensure that all client work is progressed in a timely fashion and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and costs.
• At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner.
• To demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal skills in order to meet the drafting and presentation aspects of the role.
• To demonstrate excellent organisational and prioritising skills to meet the demands of challenging and commercial internal and external clients.
• To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
• To maintain clear communication links with colleagues in the Firm.
• To ensure good working relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
• To take responsibility for and attend to self-development.
