You are a highly motivated self-starter who has a deep commitment and passion for the mission of VICE Media Group to capture people at the heart of stories, and focus on the ideas, issues, and context that other outlets miss. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and will be a key member of the corporate and commercial legal functions of VICE Media Group in the U.S. You are a team player and an extremely organized, passionate, and detail-oriented individual who can provide general oversight, organization, and continuity across VICE’s corporate and commercial legal team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the general management and coordination of corporate secretarial, governance and compliance matters, including, but not limited to, annual filings, corporate recordkeeping, data privacy requests, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) requests, purchase and invoices.
Create and implement efficiencies in, and develop and maintain tracking systems and templates for, the corporate governance and compliance processes.
Create and maintain contract management systems for the corporate legal function; create and maintain research memos, guides and policies for the compliance legal function.
Draft, evaluate, negotiate and finalize low to medium complexity corporate organizational documents, engagement letters, non-disclosure agreements, equity agreements, data privacy agreements (DPAs), vendor agreements and ancillary transaction documents in coordination with other corporate legal team members.
Provide general legal and administrative support for privacy queries in EMEA, including support reviewing DPAs, vendor contracts, DSARs, managing cookie and privacy policies and monitoring how the business is complying with GDPR developments.
Provide general legal support for all other corporate and compliance matters such as data privacy, vendor agreements, financing and M&A, joint ventures, acquisitions, investments and other equity-based arrangements.
Provide general basic legal and administrative support across the legal department, as needed, including in-office legal mail, bills and purchase orders, notarization and legalization support, and coordinating signature pages. Legal support may include managing templates, reviewing NDAs, basic statements of work, vendor agreements and one-off project work.
First point of contact to review, advise and escalate on potentially contentious matters for the EMEA businesses.
Attend to other matters as assigned by the Corporate and Commercial legal teams

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with demonstrable post-qualification and relevant industry experience.
Alternatively, we would be happy to chat to a candidate who isn’t fully qualified but has longer experience working as a paralegal or similar in the relevant field.
1-3 years of relevant professional experience (corporate legal experience at a law firm preferred)
