Description:

You will be passionate about Human Right and have proven experience managing a digital team and leading the development of marketing strategies. You will also have the confidence to manage end-to-end publishing of digital platforms, and knowledge to utilise these to support the engagement of Human Rights organisations and engage audiences.

Job Purpose 

Lead the Digital Engagement team to deliver meaningful experiences and build community with audiences across Amnesty's digital channels. The Head of Digital Engagement maintains a strategic overview of Amnesty's digital products and channels and drives best practice in digital across the organisation. This work will deliver human rights change and drive forward Amnesty's human rights impact through engaging online supporters, members and donors.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Implement an omnichannel strategy for acquisition and retention marketing
  • Develop and lead a team of 16+ staff to plan, optimise, implement and manage marketing strategies for digital channels with target markets
  • Work closely with the Brand Strategy team to map audience insights that will inform thedesign, implementation and monitoring of a digital marketing strategy focused on audience engagement, community, and supporter/member recruitment and retention.
  • Collaborate and uphold the strategic planning processes (Reactive and Commissioned) as a member of the Marketing & Communications management team.
  • Manage a mid-tier digital marketing budget and pitch for additional funding internally or with external funding organisations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the audience experience journey including Amnesty International 3m International Members. This includes initial engagement, taking action, maintaining community and membership/donation, and working with Regional offices.
  • Manage development and maintenance of the International Secretariat website and future platforms. Offer web development services to sections

Skills and Experience

  • A proven track record of leading and transforming a multi-channel digital marketing discipline for a multi-market organisation
  • Successful track record of leading and managing a 5+ person management team to deliver ambitious and successful work
  • Experience in managing marketing budgets and producing reports to prove effectiveness and Marketing & Communications impact
  • Experience of translating data into actions, using insight from a variety of data touchpoints and marketing tools to achieve clear business objectives
  • Demonstrable record of increasing public engagement and mobilising audiences to engage with a Marketing & Communications strategy - either for a commercial brand or through activism & campaigning
  • Proficient in setting benchmarks, measuring and tracking performance for sustainable growth and cost-saving efficiencies - award-winning examples are desirable
