This role reports directly to the VP Brand and requires the ability to balance clear design direction with leading a team of passionate and dedicated designers.

You’ll embrace our internationally renowned brand presence and will preserve and enforce our brand guidelines to ensure our output is consistent and the best it can be across all of our customer and prospect touchpoints

What you’ll do:

    • Lead and direct a team of designers to execute on the creative vision and strategy, set by our Chief Brand Officer and VP of Brand, to create outstanding design experiences across a broad range of different media
    • Inspire and manage a growing team of designers to achieve their creative potential
    • Support the team with regular check-ins, coaching / mentorship and annual appraisals to help drive professional development for all members of the team
    • Help establish effective working processes and practises for the team, in partnership with the VP Brand, to nurture a collaborative and healthy evidence based design approach that delivers delightful and effective brand experiences in a fast paced environment
    • Work closely with the VP Brand to evolve, systemise and disseminate our brand vision across the design team and wider org
    • Be our Brand Guardian. Understand and work within Brandwatch brand guidelines to ensure our brand experience is consistent and the best it can be across all of our customer and prospect touchpoints
    • Drive projects from concept to completion, working closely with the Project Manager to manage or juggle resources, prioritise workloads and ensure deadlines are always met without sacrificing quality or consistency
    • Help curate and maintain a pool of cost effective and dependable Agencies/Freelancers to support when we’re at full capacity or require specialised design services
    • Keep abreast of current design trends, tools, techniques and competitor activities to help inspire creativity in the team, differentiate our offering and remain industry leading in our sector.
    • Challenge and help shape up creative briefs to ensure optimal ROI and brand equity 
    • Collaborate seamlessly across leadership and multi-disciplinary teams around the org to help support, drive and deliver innovative solutions with measurable results.

What you have:

    • 8+ years of hands on experience creating exceptional digital brand experiences
    • At least 4 years commercial experience working as an Art Director
    • An exceptional and demonstrable track record in digital, print, and branding work
    • Mastery of Figma & Adobe CC: Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign along with Google Suite (Google Slides in particular) 
    • A critical eye for details. 
    • A keen interest in social and cultural trends
    • Strong communication and presentation skills. Someone who is able to clearly articulate ideas, engage in constructive debate, and accept directional feedback.
    • A deep knowledge and command of core visual design principles and creative development process.
    • Good collaboration skills and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
    • Strong team leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and coach a growing team
    • Strong planning, organizational and stakeholder management skills
    • A good understanding of Design systems and ways of systemising / scaling design
    • A passion for data visualisation
    • Working knowledge of After Effects or other animation software
