Flexible Working Approach

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP supports flexible work arrangements – consisting of some time spent working remotely from your residence and some time working on-site at a Firm office – and believes this has the potential to create long-term, improved well-being and balance for its people, while providing business advantages to the Firm as a whole.

Our flexible work policy applies to most of its people after the successful completion of their first three months with the Firm. Most people who work full time may choose to work up to two days at home per week, although they are expected to be flexible about days and be able to attend the office with a day’s notice. Some roles may not be suitable for flexible work, and you should discuss your specific circumstances with HR during your application process.

WORKING PATTERNS WE OFFER
Part-time: An employee who works fewer hours than a full-time worker. There is no specific number of hours that makes someone part-time, but a full-time worker will usually work 35-40 hours a week.
Flexi-Time: This is a working schedule that allows employees to choose when they start and end their workday, usually to accomodate an individuals needs and other commitments outside of work.
Full-time: A full-time employee works between 35 and 40 hours per week, usually on a permanent contract.
WORKLOAD OPTIONS WE OFFER
Phased Retirement: This refers to an approach that gives employees the ability to manage the transition from full-time employment to retirement.
WORKPLACE OPTIONS WE OFFER
Hybrid Working (Office / Home): This means an employee splits their time between the workplace (usually office based) and remote working (usually at home).
Office Working: This refers to an employee being physically present in the workplace to fulfil their contractual responsibilities.
