This position sits in our Marketing & Technology service based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include ASOS, Just Eat Takeaway, Twitch, TikTok, and The White Company.

JOB PURPOSE

The Associate Design Director role here is an integral part of the team providing craft, guidance, inspiration and support to fellow ADDs and the larger team of designers at a range of different levels. We are looking for an ADD with experience or background in Motion and Video. Each ADD has ownership of a number of clients and act as brand guardians and lead designers on these accounts. As Associate Design Director you’ll have line management responsibilities and be expected to lead and help evolve the team with fellow leads. Our designers often work on projects that require art direction, graphic design, 2D motion, and/or editing. Each designer also has their own specialism, whether it’s illustration or 3D, which means individuals on the team will  bring something different to a project. 

This is a new exciting role in the business leading the design of some of our largest clients. 

We would be open to this position being in London or Manchester. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, develop, motivate and inspire a team as well as encouraging collaboration
  • Suggest best ways of working,  and hustle for the best opportunities 
  • Work with the Design Director to build processes, structures and raise the quality of design
  • Build a productive and working relationship with other disciplines across the agency to deliver projects
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects
  • Explore and work within a variety of different formats and platforms to create global campaigns
  • Generate creative ideas and campaign look and feels
  • Deliver and inspire innovative and high quality work across all deliverables from the team
  • Collaborate with other heads of design and creative planners
  • Be aware of and respond to current design trends and culture
  • Use your experience and ideas to contribute to the development of our creative process 
  • Present work internally and externally
  • Stay up-to-date with industry development and tools 

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience in a senior design role within the creative industry 
  • Excellent motion design and video editing skills in after effects / premier pro
  • Experience in video production and post production techniques
  • Outstanding showreel and/or portfolio
  • Experience of leading and managing other designers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills / time management skills 
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe creative suite
  • Strong aesthetic skills with graphic design principles knowledge 
  • Attention to visual details
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure within a fast-paced environment
  • A love for learning new things and exploring new formats

Nice to have:

  • Cinema 4D/Blender
  • Experience with AR/3D
