Description:

Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the Bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as a consultant for the Bank, its clients, and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality analysis and actively promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.

You will sit with the Healthcare team in London supporting asset managers in deciding which stocks to invest in within specific sectors. This involves formulation of stock and sector-level investment theses, on-going authoring, and production of written research to promote investment views and marketing those views to internal and external clients.

Your key responsibilities

  • Using publicly available information, assessing the financial performance and strategy of the companies in the sector, forming a view on the relative and absolute valuation of each company. This theoretical valuation is then compared to the market price of the equity to determine whether shares are rated as Buy, Sell or Hold
  • As part of the Healthcare team, support institutional asset managers in choosing which companies are worth investing in and which are worth avoiding
  • Financial modelling and contributing to written research notes

Your skills and experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification/work experience preferably in life sciences or

one of the following - Higher degree in life sciences (Master of Science/ Doctorate of Philosophy (MSc/PhD) or Healthcare/pharma industry experience is advantageous

  • Finance/accountancy qualification such as Association of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA)
  • Strong interpersonal skills which enable you to convincingly market your ideas to the internal and external client base
