Join us as a Strategic Finance Adviser, Product & Capital Finance

  • This is an opportunity to join our Product & Capital Finance Business Partnering team in Commercial Banking Finance and provide commercial and financial insights to help influence key business decisions
  • Not only will you be supporting our Customer Propositions & Delivery team, but you'll be providing crucial support to our Transactional Banking leadership team and in particular the Head of Liquidity Product Management
  • With the establishment of our new Commercial & Institutional franchise, you'll benefit from lots of change and the chance to shape how the finance team supports the business through this transition and beyond
  • You'll be joining a team who work within a hybrid working model, so you'll enjoy the benefits of both home and office working and you can be based anywhere within the UK

What you'll do:

As a Strategic Finance Adviser, you’ll be providing business insights and market knowledge to assist the Transactional Banking leadership team within Commercial & Institutional to make key product, cost and investment decisions.

Building your knowledge of the business and working with the treasury team will be a key part of your role in the wider team, and you'll be making sure that joined-up information flows and is strategically aligned across the bank.

You’ll also be:

  • Providing commercial and financial insights and analysis to help influence key business decisions, including business cases and product propositions
  • Reviewing and providing input for plans, forecasts and stress scenarios, and providing business leads with key themes and analysis
  • Monitoring the deposits book for emerging risks and opportunities
  • Analysing financial regulatory change impact on products and services
  • Providing investment tracking and forecasting reviews
  • Using the data and analytics thinking required to solve strategic problems using the latest tools and techniques
  • Collaborating with our Finance centre of excellence to provide specific financial plans, forecasts, stress testing and customer, market or segment analysis

The skills you need:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need good networking and stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate, influence and resolve conflict. Along with planning and organisation capabilities, you’ll need the ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk and work in a flexible environment.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise and non-technical manner
  • The ability to review and interpret plans, forecasts, models and stress scenarios
  • Strategic awareness and the ability to apply business knowledge, expertise and challenge to support the business
  • Good finance functional knowledge, accounting knowledge and product area and market segment knowledge
