As our Enterprise Architect no two days are the same! In this role, you will act as an enterprise expert to our sales teams on how the Salesforce Customer Success Platform fits into an enterprise business and IT architecture. With a broad IT background and sound business savviness including business architecture, technical architecture, software/systems engineering, cloud computing, and the software development process (SDLC), you will structure the proposed deployment of Salesforce solutions and transform customer business strategy into execution as part of the pre-sales cycle.
Your expertise includes business strategy, application architecture, data & information, integration, security, cloud computing, technology, distributed platforms, mobile, and analytics. You will decide which Salesforce technologies to leverage in customer architectures using Enterprise Architecture frameworks and Salesforce agile methodologies. The sales team will lean on your to help the customers develop specific deployment roadmaps against business strategies.
This role will be aligned with our Retail team and you need to be comfortable discussing future trends and challenges. Our ideal candidate will be assisting us in the development of our industry sales plays and are able to communicate these both internally and externally, including at industry and architecture conferences.
You will be describing all aspects of the Salesforce platform with business IT audiences including the CTO/CIO and Chief Digital Officer. With a proven blend of technical and sales skills, you will use a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements and to support the sales teams develop and refine a technical sales strategy and Salesforce solution fit.
Experience/Skills Required:
Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.).
Demonstrable experience in the technology sector, either as a vendor or user
Strong pre-sales/business development experience, preferably with a software vendor, Systems Integrator or other consulting organisation
Solid grasp of architectural principles of cloud-based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure and micro-services.
Familiarity with major cloud offerings in the market and ability to discuss cloud architectures
Great knowledge on enterprise application integration, for example, SOA, ESB, EAI, and ETL environments and integration considerations such as process orchestration, customer data integration and master data management.
Experience within the Retail industry, both bricks & mortar and online across one or more sectors including grocery, fashion, specialist, QSR in areas such as e-commerce, marketing, customer service, procurement, and supply chain.
Additional Skills (useful but not required):
Previous practitioner and/or implementation experience of Salesforce or other relevant solutions
Previous development experience (Force.com, Java or C#, JavaScript, HTML, XML, AJAX, or relevant open-source platforms)
Enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF
Demonstrable experience as an Enterprise Architect in an organisation within the business services domain
An understanding of UI/UIX design thinking
Principles of network, application and information security
A good understanding of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier, multi-tenant web applications.
