Has your experience of working in a fundraising and/or marketing environment given you a firm grasp of digital marketing and developing digital supporter/customer journeys and engagement? Then join Shelter as a Senior Digital Fundraising Manager and you could soon be playing a vital role at the heart of our Community and Events team.

About Shelter

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent.

We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.

About the team

Our Community and Events teams sits within a wider Income Generation directorate that’s also focused on a variety of other types of fundraising. Welcoming, supportive and keen to meet you, we work hard but try and have a lot of fun too. We also passionately believe in developing our people. Put simply, this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to excel in digital fundraising and marketing strategy and oversee the implementation of some exciting plans, while working as part of a dynamic team.

About the role

As the team embark on an ambitious 3-year plan aimed at taking income from £5.5m to £8.3m, you’ll play a vital role as you lead on the Community and Events digital strategy and oversee implementation to acquire and retain supporter audiences. Along the way you’ll line manage a Digital Fundraiser Manager and work closely with other members of the Community and Events team, as well as colleagues across the organisation - including other Income Generation teams, Digital, Marketing, Social Media, and CRM. Essentially, you’ll be the person we rely on to drive forward the strategic development of our Community and Events digital programme. As well as leading on the digital acquisition of new Community & Events audiences, you’ll be able to use supporter insights and data to deliver outstanding supporter experiences at every touch point across digital channels. often delivering multiple projects at the same time.

We are happy to talk about flexible working, personal growth, and to promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based only on your merit.

About you

As well as proven digital expertise, you’ll need a strong understanding of best practice in marketing communications and experience of drawing up digital marketing strategies. You’ll also need to be used to delivering marketing results in a customer focused environment and adept at managing and analysing marketing campaigns. The ability to digest complex data, extract key insights to inform strategies and campaigns and turn findings into clear actions is important too, as are strong project and campaign management skills. A highly effective communicator, you have experience of line managing and leading others to develop testing plans and optimise campaigns. What’s more, you enjoy collaborating across teams, thrive on keeping ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning and are excited by the prospect of working in an innovative team to improve our Community & Events fundraising offerings.

Benefits

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own. Apply to be part of our team and be the change you want to see in society.
