Contract length: fixed term contract until 30 September 2022, with the possibility for extension dependent on further funding

Location: Blackburn Central Library with travel around Lancashire

Closing date: 11:30pm on 5th June 2022

About you

You will be experienced in supporting vulnerable adults who are experiencing multiple disadvantage with compassion. You’ll also have:

  • Experience of providing housing, welfare benefits and debt advice, with an understanding of how legislation impacts this
  • An ability to manage a varied caseload, adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Experience of working with safeguarding framework
  • The ability to work successfully with a range of stakeholders

About the role and team 

Working flexibly across Lancashire, you will provide housing, debt and welfare benefits support and manage a varied caseload, recording your work accurately on our client database. You’ll need to build and maintain relationships within the community and collaborate with key stakeholders and referral partners to achieve positive outcomes and identify opportunities to influence change. In addition, you’ll support with the development and delivery of training and rights awareness for staff, volunteers and wider stakeholders.

The Community Adviser role sits within the Building Better Opportunities project, which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund on a yearly basis. The team is collaborative, supportive and passionate, working in partnership with local social enterprise and community organisations.
