About the role and team
Working within the Community Fundraising team, you’ll need to be able to start and build relationships effectively, to tell the story of why people should support Shelter’s fight to end homelessness and bad housing. You will achieve this by working closely with Services colleagues in our Community Hubs to plan exciting local fundraising opportunities and engaging with local community groups. As the Regional Community Fundraiser, you’ll be responsible for establishing relationships with new supporters, with a focus on Faith Groups, and maintaining existing supporter relationships in and around North London.
Supported by the Community Fundraising Area Manager and the rest of the team, you’ll have the space to develop your fundraising and relationship management skills, learning from high-performing Income Generation colleagues.
We are committed to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation. We’ve taken significant steps to achieve this, working closely with our Anti-Racism Steering Group, but appreciate there is more hard work to come. We welcome you on our journey.
A home is a fundamental human need. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle daily with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, motivated individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time.
At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.
