About Shelter

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.

About the team

This post sits within the Individual Giving Team, which is responsible for delivering a diverse programme of work with ambitious income targets that support our organisational strategy, across cash, regular giving and lottery products.  The Individual Giving Team sits within the wider Income Generation department, which focuses on a wide variety of other types of fundraising.

We passionately believe in developing our people – via our internal Learning & Development programme as well as external opportunities.

About the role

Collaborating with peers and managers of teams to do so, you will plan and manage key projects and exceptional end-to-end fundraising campaigns with significant income and expenditure targets and have made sure that each campaign builds strong supporter relationships and long-term commitment to Shelter.  We will also count on you to create testing plans, optimise and innovate campaigns as well as use insight to inform your decisions and measure campaign effectiveness

Managing individual campaign budgets, monitoring financial and non-financial targets and seeking out opportunities to optimise budgets and bid for additional resources are all also key aspects of this role, as is actively championing audience-led insight, working closely with our Data Management and Insight team, and sharing findings with the wider team

About you

You will have a proven record working in a fundraising and / or a marketing environment with an operational  grasp of digital marketing and developing digital campaigns working across key digital platforms – plus have a solid understanding of best practice in marketing communications and experience in drawing up digital marketing plans.  You will also be familiar with delivering marketing results in a customer-focused environment and be able to manage and analyse marketing campaigns, as well as being able to digest complex data and extract key insights to inform strategies and campaigns and be able to communicate these effectively with the wider team. We’re looking for someone who can bring our ideas to life, coming up with creative ways to inspire people to support our fight to end the housing emergency.
