A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. We are striving to change this, with individuals, in communities and across society, and we need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are aiming to achieve.
At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and to become a truly anti-racist organisation.
About the team
Part of our Communications, Policy and Communications (CPC) Directorate, the Marketing team includes search, digital and social media specialists, brand managers and paid campaign strategy and delivery experts. As well as working closely with in-house creative, digital and insight teams, we support all areas of the organisation and work across all aspects of marketing, combining our expertise in engaging organic and paid audiences. From developing project strategies to delivering multi-channel campaigns, we analyse market trends, build targetable audience segments, and constantly optimise and test new channels and ad variants.
About the role
As a senior member of the marketing team, you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering a services marketing strategy that will shape how we promote our face-to-face, digital and helpline services, as well as our services for professionals. This will include developing highly targeted, integrated digital and offline B2C marketing campaigns with a focus on promoting digital advice, as well as delivering national and regional integrated B2B and B2C marketing plans for both paid and owned channels. In addition, you will be the central point of contact and expertise for enabling regional Services to develop and deliver successful local marketing themselves, and will have responsibility for managing the services marketing budget. This interesting and varied role will see you regularly travel to regional Hubs to build strong relationships with Services colleagues.
To succeed, you’ll need relevant experience gained using technical, market, consumer and audience insight as a basis for developing and delivering effective digital and offline marketing campaigns. You’ll also need a proven ability to manage individuals, as well as agency relationships. Highly collaborative, with a willingness to share knowledge and lead by example in developing the skills of the team and wider organisation, you’re comfortable representing your team in cross-organisational communications projects. You’re also happy to travel as required to get the job done.
