Building off the success of VICE News in the U.S, VICE World News is the newly-launched international news arms of VICE Media Group, producing hundreds of hours of international television, digital and audio news programming for a global audience. The premium documentaries, docu-series, original podcasts, written and photo-led content will focus on the core issues that so define VICE’s content: climate, inequality, extremism, drugs, privacy, race and politics. 


VICE World News works with agencies and marketers directly to successfully execute integrated marketing campaigns inclusive of media, sponsored editorial, custom content, social, experiential and more. This agile team works with departments from across the VICE portfolio, tapping into media and production expertise to ensure successful results for the world’s most cutting edge and purpose-driven marketers. As a new arm of the European business, you will work directly alongside VICE World News leadership and play a key role in steering the direction of VICE World News commercial partnerships across the region.

Role x You

VICE World News is looking for an Executive Client Partner to join and support our ambitious, growing global digital news offering by helping to drive forward the international commercial proposition. You will be responsible for delivering profitable sales revenues from multi-region territories for VICE World News, working with the Associate Business Director to develop strategies and partnerships to grow existing markets, develop new markets, revenue streams and channels to create further opportunities for VWN. You will have recent experience working for a publisher in the news sector, building marketing solutions for clients within the automotive, charities, financial services, FMCG, government, NGO or telecommunications verticals. You are the consummate team player and find enjoyment selling collaboratively within a fluid and fast-paced environment.

In the short term, you will be expected to hit the ground running, developing revenue opportunities, building relationships with key internal stakeholders and growing your exposure amongst key client stakeholders.

But after 6 months you will be extracting and responding to high-value briefs and RFPs in collaboration with the strategy and creative teams, and working closely with the strategy, creative, media planning, and ad op teams to ensure best in class scoping, planning and delivery of work and campaigns to your clients.

Qualifications
You have these:

  • Previous experience working in a media and brand partnerships sales role, ideally at a publisher in the news sector

  • Experience of working with brands within the automotive, charities, financial services, FMCG, government, NGO or telecommunications verticals

  • Relationships with decision makers both at media agencies and client side

  • Experience in managing the pitching process and closing media and partnership led opportunities

  • Up-to-date knowledge and ability to sell digital media solutions

  • Experience in working within a targeted sales environment

  • First-class networking skills; a self-starter who can work independently yet be part of a focused team

  • Commercial nous, and negotiation skills

  • A high-performance focus, solid work ethic and a very hands-on nature

  • A clear passion and energy for business, and the evolving media landscape

  • Solid written/verbal communication & presentation skills

  • Impeccable personal integrity and business ethics

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to work on your own initiative
