ABOUT VICE MEDIA GROUP

VICE Media Group is the world’s largest independent youth media company.  Launched in 1994, VICE has offices in 35 cities across the globe with a focus on five key businesses: VICE.com, an award-winning international network of digital content; VICE STUDIOS, a feature film and television production studio; VICE, an Emmy-winning international television network; a Peabody award-winning NEWS division with the most Emmy-awarded nightly news broadcast; and VIRTUE, a global, full-service creative agency with 21 offices around the world.

VICE's content has been recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Peabodys, Golden Globes, Sundance Film Festival, George Polk, Scripps Howard, PEN Center, Cannes Lions, Knight Foundation, American Society of Magazine Editors, LA Press Club, James Beard and Webbys, among others. VICE Media Group’s portfolio includes Refinery29, the leading global media and entertainment company focused on women;  PULSE Films, a London-based next-generation production studio with outposts in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Berlin;  i-D, a global digital and bimonthly magazine defining fashion and contemporary culture; and Garage, a digital platform and biannual publication converging the worlds of art and design.

VICE x News

The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The digital news team focuses on short form storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay global news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s projects better. We believe in listening to everyone’s ideas and bringing on a diverse group of people who love working together to make the best, most unique news content out there.

Role x You

As producer for Vice World News digital video, you will be developing and creating compelling series and one off documentaries for VICE’s digital platforms including YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram. You constantly pitch and know how to find the right characters to tell the best version of your story. You are adept in the field and in the edit bay and work well with a team to get it all done.

In the short term… you will pitch stories that you find fascinating, tell us why, and then either produce them from the office with archival material, or go out into the world and make them. You will see your stories through from the original idea, to development, to shoots, and finally, the scripting, editing, and finishing process.

After 6 months in this role… You’ll know exactly the kind of pitch that will get greenlit and you’re making pieces you’re passionate about every week.

And after a year.. You will have a lot of pieces under your belt, constantly pushing the limit and thinking differently, and training new members of the staff on how to do it the right way.
