The award-winning VICE News Tonight and VICE on Showtime team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. Role

As producer for America’s most Emmy-winning newscast, you are always ready to get out there and make content. Content that’s compelling and innovative and wildly different from what everyone else is doing. You constantly pitch and know how to find the right characters to tell the best version of your story. You are adept in the field and in the edit bay and work well with a team to get it all done.

Qualifications 

You have these: 

• Minimum of 5 years experience working on stories from start to finish, carrying it from your pitch to field shoot to edit to delivery 
• Ability to develop and pitch unique story ideas and angles, with research to back it up 
• Excellent news judgement 
• Understanding of story arc and how to build characters, scenes, and moments 
• This isn’t any producing gig - you need a vision for storytelling, a love for daily news, and the ability to hold it all together when things adapt and change on a tight deadline. 
• You should exude a calm, in-control vibe and back it up with the ability to act deftly in changing situations. 
• Excellent writing and script editing skills 
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude 
• Able to think differently about stories; see it from a different perspective 
• Strong news judgement and excellent problem solver
• You’ll be expected to work on field pieces of 10-20 minutes duration as well as long-form documentary formats
