Role x You

With your deep knowledge of cultural, technological and media trends, as our Senior Strategist, you will be ideating and pitching audience-led strategic solutions for our clients across VICE Media Group in the UK, reporting into the Director of Client Strategy.

In the short term you will be developing strategies that ideate audience-led solutions driven by insights, working closely with the sales, creative and production teams and delivering these strategies to clients through the pitch process.

But after 6 months you will be leading strategies while gathering ongoing data used to inform VICE Media Group needs and strategies. You will be leading the communication and relationship with the creative department when delivering strategic led insights for campaigns and pitches and you’ll be maintaining relationships with our strategic partners e.g. Quantcast, GWI, Tubular Labs etc.

And after a year, you will help shape our strategic commercial vision for VICE through audience analysis and working with sales to drive revenue.

Qualifications

You have these:

  • Experience in strategy – ideally within a publishing environment - with a focus on insights, data and content strategy
  • A demonstrated ability to inform creative direction through insights and data as well as experience of pitch structure and design
  • Strong communication skills and can demonstrate intelligence when building relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients
  • Deep knowledge of insight tools (Quantcast, GWI etc.) and an ability to critique strategic and creative approach
  • Forward-thinking approach to consumer insights, utilising platforms such as Facebook and Instagram for commercial pitches
  • Knowledge of how creative should be approached for multiple touchpoints across various digital platforms, including Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & YouTube
  • Deep knowledge of media strategy/formats and platform distribution (organic and paid)
  • Passion for making work that stands out and makes a difference for our audience

We’d love if you also had these:

  • Familiarity and a genuine interest in VICE, our family of sites and products
  • A proactive and independent work ethos
  • A passionate and curious approach to innovative and non-traditional brand communications
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to vary the tone of voice
  • Ability to collaborate and work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Analytical with an eye for detail and design
  • Passionate about social and digital advertising, the marketplace and technology
  • Dedicated, hardworking, and organised with a strategic and creative approach
  • Ability to learn fast and take initiative - comfortable with taking on new projects
  • Ability to draw insights from figures and performance
  • Attention to detail is a must

We want to find people who believe in our goals and feel inspired enough to grow while they’re here to fill the role, rather than someone who checks the boxes but isn’t invested. We encourage you to apply and show us what you’ve got.

If you require reasonable accommodation during the application and selection process, please let us know.  We will work together to best meet your needs.

Working at VICE

VICE prioritizes the ideas and people that other media companies miss. We believe that innovation is a direct result of diverse, inclusive cultures so we don’t just “tolerate” differences, we celebrate it and see it as essential to our staff, culture, and business.
