Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Managing Director of B2B, the Head of Commercial UK will help Zego’s UK business reach its full potential. You will be accountable for driving our Distribution efforts in the UK, leading and supporting the team to reach our 2023 targets. You will be responsible for our sales and retention strategy across both broker and direct channels.

What you will be working on

  • With the MD B2B, building the UK commercial strategy with the mandate of growing our customer base efficiently and with healthy book performance
  • Setting and driving to meet and exceed our targets for new business and renewals
  • Hiring and managing the sales team capable of executing on the strategy
  • Working hand in hand with the Underwriting Team to manage the pipeline, remove obstacles and achieve our objectives
  • Managing Sales Performance in UK and providing relevant reporting and analysis to make decisions and help the wider business understand sales performance of the channels
  • Building and driving strong relationships with top tier partners to enable business growth
  • Working closely with our Product and Product Marketing teams to identify and scope future opportunities to increase our sales potential in the UK market
  • Coaching of our Broker Sales team in the UK to ensure operational excellence
  • What you will need to be successful
  • You have previous experience as a Sales Manager or Director in B2B sales
  • You have experience in selling and delivering sales targets within the Insurance sector, a strong network within the Broker community is a strong plus
  • You have previous experience in managing a team with focus on strong sales performance
  • You are an excellent negotiator and relationship builder
  • You are able to easily shift between long-term strategy plans and short-term tactical initiatives
  • You have strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for data

Home can still be your primary place of work, with team days and events at our central London office when we need to get together. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards travel costs for our monthly pizza socials and other team get-togethers.

We think it’s a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve that right balance between work and life.
